The Audience

Your Brand Meets Her Audience

The heart of Chosen's audience is Black women ages 40 to 70+ — women navigating the very terrain of the film: grief, caregiving, reinvention, and second-chance love.

They are also this film's earliest and most devoted supporters — an audience that doesn't just watch stories like Janice's. They show up for them — and for the businesses that help bring them to life.

Partners are woven into that relationship for months — before, during, and after production — through Making Chosen, our weekly behind-the-scenes series on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, plus campaign updates, the Columbus premiere, and the film's 2027 festival run.

Women 40+

Women-led organizations

Book clubs, professional networks, and civic groups that mobilize around culture made for and about them.

Columbus community

Ohio audiences who show up for homegrown independent film — and for the businesses that back it.

Festival & indie film audiences

Supporters of Black independent cinema, reached through the film's 2027 festival circuit.

The Scene Placement Menu

Your Product, In the Story

Placement 01

The Living Room

Home Décor · Furniture · Candles · Art

Janice's living room is the stage for almost the entire film — the reunion, the reckoning, and everything between. Set dressing partners get the most sustained visual presence Chosen has to offer: your pieces, in frame, for nearly the whole runtime.

From the Script

INT. JANICE'S HOME — LIVING ROOM — DAYHarold's phone rings incessantly on the coffee table in the next room.

The SettingA historic Columbus home — earthy, regal, and eccentric, just like the woman who lives there.

Placement 02

The Morning Coffee

Coffee · Local Roaster · Kitchenware

The film opens on Janice's morning ritual — coffee, prepared calmly, in the presence of a very inconvenient situation. It's the first laugh of the film, and your brand is in her hands for it.

From the Script

Opening SceneJanice stands in her cozy kitchen, preparing coffee.

Moments LaterShe takes her coffee and sits on the couch opposite Harold, sipping casually while his phone continues to buzz.

Placement 03

The Wine

Wine · Winery · Wine Shop

In the film's quiet final scene, Janice pours herself a glass of wine and chooses herself. It's the emotional landing of the entire story — the image audiences leave with. One wine partner owns that moment.

From the Story

The Final SceneIn the quiet aftermath, Janice returns home. She pours herself a glass of wine and flips through photographs of the full life she built.

Placement 04

The Wardrobe

Boutique · Fashion · Accessories

Three generations of women, three distinct styles: Janice — earthy, regal, eccentric, and unforgettable in her silk robe. Deborah — refined and stoic. Cadence — 24, witty, and effortlessly current. Dress a character from first frame to final look.

From the Script

Janice Montgomery, 70sAn earthy, regal, and eccentric African American woman.

Deborah Green, 70sRefined and stoic, looking directly at the camera.

Placement 05

The Kitchen & The Takeout

Restaurant · Bakery · Catering

Janice's kitchen anchors key beats of the film — including the doorbell moment that changes everything — and the props list literally includes takeout. Your restaurant's bag, box, or bakery treats can sit in the middle of Janice's world.

From the Script

INT. JANICE'S HOME — KITCHENJanice taps on her kitchen display to see who's outside her door.

From the Doorbell Camera"Grandpa, we know you're here."

Placement 06

Behind the Camera

Craft Services · Florals · Production Support · In-Kind

Not every partnership appears on screen. Feeding our cast and crew for two production days, providing florals for set dressing, or supporting the shoot in-kind earns full Story Partner recognition — credits, Making Chosen spotlights, and premiere presence. In-kind support directly replaces budget lines and gets this film made.

Questions Businesses Ask

Story Partner FAQ

What exactly do I get for my partnership?

Every tier includes your name in the film's end credits and recognition across the Making Chosen series. Higher tiers add your logo, social spotlights, premiere tickets, press inclusion, and on-screen scene placement. Everything is confirmed in a simple written agreement before the shoot — no surprises.

Can I provide products or services instead of cash?

Yes. In-kind partnerships — craft services, florals, props, wardrobe — receive Story Partner recognition matched to the value of the support. In-kind partners directly replace production budget lines, so it genuinely helps get the film made.

I'm an individual, not a business. Can I join?

Absolutely. Individuals who join the Director's Circle at $1,000+ receive an Associate Producer credit on the film, plus the on-set visit, VIP premiere seats, and wrap celebration invitation.

How long does my business stay visible?

Your credit travels with the film permanently — through the Columbus premiere, the 2027 festival circuit, and eventual streaming and community screenings. The Making Chosen series and campaign visibility begin as soon as you join, months before the film is released.

How should my business think about the cost?

Chosen is an independent film production, and Story Partner packages are built as marketing partnerships — you receive promotional benefits including credits, social media features, and on-screen placement. Many businesses treat sponsorships with promotional benefits as a marketing expense; talk with your tax professional about what applies to your situation.

What if I want something custom?

Every business is different. Tell Michelle your goals and budget and we'll build the right fit — from a single scene placement to a premiere-night partnership.
